Physically based rendering - material makeup

Our primary objective is to create a digital platform where users can seamlessly apply virtual makeup that closely resembles the real-world application. We achieve this by accurately modeling the face, including the detailed structure and normals, and precisely calculating the light conditions of the scene.

To reproduce the look and feel of real-world makeup materials, we pay detailed attention to the physical properties of the materials. This includes characteristics such as specularity, metallicity and glossiness, which are crucial in creating a photorealistic experience.

Our process employs a dedicated 3D rendering pipeline, developed specifically for the challenges and requirements of digital makeup. This pipeline involves precise 3D modeling techniques to capture the intricacies of facial structure and contours. It is also integrated with unique proprietary material blend modes, a feature that significantly enhances the level of realism in our product.

Additionally, we use physically based rendering techniques for generating soft shadows and simulating ambient occlusions. These techniques allow us to portray the interplay between light and shadow on the face, further elevating the quality and realism of our digital makeup application.

The end result is a digital makeup experience that authentically mimics real-world conditions and produces a visually compelling outcome. This technical foundation serves as the backbone of our platform, enabling a high-quality, realistic, and immersive digital makeup experience.
